  1. Inferior vena cava : The inferior vena cava (IVC) is a large retroperitoneal vessel. It is a large vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the lower & middle body into the heart’s right atrium.
  2. Hepatic vein: The liver processes nutrients in this blood and filters out toxic substances. Then the hepatic veins carry the blood away from it and into the inferior vena cava, which leads to the right atrium, one of the heart’s four chambers.
  3. Lobe: There are four lobes in the whole liver, and these are; right, left, caudate, and quadrate. The caudate lobe lies between the left and right lobes in an anterior and superior location. The quadrate lobe lies on the inferior surface of the right lobe.
  4. Aorta: It is the main artery that carries blood away from our heart to the rest of our body.
  5. Falciform Ligament: The falciform ligament is thin and sickle-shaped. It has a fibrous structure, and it joins anterior part of the liver to ventral wall of the abdomen. 
  6. Teres Ligament: ligamentum teres (or round ligament) of the liver is a cord-like ligament found within the falciform ligament on the inner surface of the anterior abdominal wall.
  7. Hepatic duct: hepatic duct (perihilar region) A tube that carries bile from the liver.
  8. Cystic duct: It is a tube that carries bile from the gall bladder.
  9. Hepatic Artery: It is a short blood vessel that supplies oxygenated blood to the liver.
  10. Hepatic portal vein: It is A vein blood vessel it carries blood to the liver from the intestines, spleen, pancreas, and gallbladder.
  11. Common bile duct: The common bile duct starts where ducts from the liver and gallbladder join and end at the small intestine. 
  12. Gallbladder: Gallbladder is a small pear-shaped organ. It is on the right side of your abdomen, just beneath your liver.

2. Fatty Liver

In simple words, I can say a fatty liver is when our liver stores too much fat in liver cells, and our healthy liver turns into a fatty liver. Furthermore, Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasing day by day worldwide.

So, Fatty liver is when we put excessive calories into our body. When our liver is unable to reduce the excess calories that we take so, it makes the layer of fat around it, which we call the fatty liver. It is a disease that causes a build-up of fats in the liver which can damage the organ and it also leads to serious complications.

Moreover, Fatty liver may cause no damage. So, excess fat leads to inflammation of the liver. That condition, called steatohepatitis, does cause liver damage. 

3. Causes of fatty liver disease

  1. Eating excess calories: Consuming more calories and fat than we burn may cause you to become overweight or obese. Furthermore, it will lead to fatty liver.
  2. High cholesterol: Body needs cholesterol to build healthy cells because it is essential, but high levels of cholesterol can increase fat in the body or in the liver; moreover, it will also increase the risk of heart disease.
  3. Obesity: Disorder involving excessive body fat that increases the risk of fatty liver.
